The Heliothropes of Endait are the fusion offspring of the Endait-native Nequins and the starfaring Astra’Born. The Astra’Born are one of the four Myoborn races of the Lucida Paracosm. Being their direct descendents, the Heliothropes possess their same consonance with the elements of light and electromagnetism.
Heliothropes begin their life span as a single mote of light encapsulated in a membrane of psiron. An Astra’Song is required to germinate them, after which they develop into their primary extant form (usually humanoid). Most Heliothropes mature into humanoids standing from 2 to 5 metres tall. As they age, the light they emanate continually crystallizes into new psiron, which in turn solidify into machine-like pieces of armour, joints and housings.
Society
Heliothropes have a rigid, machinated society where every member carries out their own specific functions to better the community. A community is called a circuit; it works on a caste system, but because each individual is born with a niche role to play in society, there is virtually no dissension. Switching of form and function is rare among Heliothropes.
The Knight
A Helioknight’s duty is to defend the circuit. Since a Heliothrope’s form evolves in lockstep with its function, Helioknights are quite literally born and bred to battle.
Of all the elementary Heliothrope classes, the knights are the most resilient to physical punishment. Almost every point of articulation in their psiron frames are laced with anti-shock suspensions – an average knight needs only ten metres of counterpush distance to stop a train traveling at 200 km/hr. They are also incredibly strong, able to lift loads of up to over ten times their own body weight.
Arsenal and Abilities
Heliothropes bear a shield on one arm and a choice weapon (longsword, polearm or sledge mace) on the other. Their shields often pack additional offensive capabilities; for instance, doubling as a photon lance or cannon.
Because Helioknights have the ability to bear tremendous weight, they usually weld as much weaponry onto their psironic bodies as possible. Common enhancements include shock blades, plasma lashes, and photon launchers.
Knights command a narrow but pragmatic arsenal of light and electromagnetic magicks. They are proficient in enhancement spells, wherein they imbue their weapons and bodies with light and electromagnetic magicks to add an extra punch to their strikes.

Nephilain Integra Aultazyne-Z4 of the Hydra Circuit – Dignitary of the Hydra Circuit and Zoroaster-Dean of the Hydra Concierge. In the field of knightcraft, she pioneered the use of multi-headed plasma lashes, ramification defensive matrices, and psironic regenerator grafts. In aegis service since the Obsidian War.
